About the Opportunity

MasonLift is currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Mechanics/Technicians (Heavy Equipment, or Automotive) to join our team in Delta, BC and Prince George, BC on a full-time basis. 

As our new Service Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs on forklifts and various types of industrial equipment on-site at customer locations. 

While no two days will ever be alike in this role, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Performing repairs and maintenance on material handling equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel, and hydraulic systems
  • Working with grinders, drill presses, air compressors, and other power tools
  • Analyzing wiring diagrams and instruction manuals to diagnose components
  • Utilizing safe work practices and procedures that follow all company Health and Safety guidelines and policies
  • Maintaining accurate work records on company-issued tablets
  • Demonstrating continuous efforts to improve efficiencies, and technical skills, decrease repair time and work cooperatively and jointly with others to provide quality customer service
  • Performing quality inspections of completed repairs in order to ensure the thoroughness and sustainability of equipment returned to service

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you must have completed High school or equivalent education proficiency.

You must also have at least ONE of the following:

  • 2 years of experience for a mechanic with forklift mechanic experience OR
  • 2-3 years experience for a mechanic with heavy equipment experience OR
  • 4+ years of experience for a mechanic with automotive experience. 

Candidates with electrical millwright experience will also be considered.

You must also have exceptional customer service skills along with a valid driver's license and clean abstract and previous related technical experience. 

The following will be key to performing this role:

  • Experience in any of the following industries - Auto, Forklift, Heavy Duty, Truck and Coach mechanic auto or heavy equipment mechanic
  • Must be safety conscious and have knowledge of best practices
  • Experience repairing Toyota machines is a definite asset
  • Basic computer and tablet skills
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices
  • An understanding of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements
  • Self-motivated, well-organized individual with the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
